Max Hitzig
The originator of one of the longest backflips in Tour history, do you know the new freeride phenomenon?
Max Hitzig has been smashing the FWT circuit's counters for 2 seasons now. He's the new prodigy of the steep slopes.
It all began when he won a wildcard for the FWT22 Fieberbrunn event. He won the event with two splendid 360s. The young German skier followed this up the following season by being named FWT23 “Best Male Rider” of the year.
At just 21 years of age, Max impressed the freeride community with his increasingly fast and daring runs. It was at Kicking Horse, in particular, that he pulled off one of the longest backflips, enabling him to win the gold medal. Despite finishing4th overall in the previous season, Max got off to a flying start in 2024 on the Verbier stage, where he won simply and effectively, with a touch of the “Hitzig”: a run that ends with a beautiful 360. This year's FWT competitors will have to watch out for the rising freeride star!
